Coordinator at the Centre for Adult Education.
Dianne has been responsible for implementing the new CGEA at the CAE in 2007. She has been involved in running numerous workshops on the new CGEA for staff at the CAE and other institutions.

Presenters:
The session will be facilitated by Venny Smolich and Lisa Bartels.
Venny is the Program Manager of Women’s Programs at Victoria University TAFE.
She has taught adult numeracy and maths for 19 years and has been overseeing the
implementation and delivery of adult literacy, numeracy, ESL, computing and work
preparation courses for 15 years. She is currently also doing research into the broader
outcomes of adult literacy and ESL courses.
Lisa is a teacher and coordinator of CGEA courses at Victoria University with 13
years experience in the field of adult literacy. In her role as Senior Educator (Literacy),
Lisa has facilitated a number of internal and external professional development activities
focussing on the implementation of the reaccredited CGEA.
Venny and Lisa are currently working on a project focussing on the implementation of the CGEA with an emphasis on Employability Skills and the development of a model for Learning in the Workplace and Community.

• unpacking and planning for delivery of the core units, conduct a project and develop an individual learning plan
• developing learning and assessment strategies for the employability skills
